Recovery is longer than one wash cycle
You'll be using this pillow for weeks, most of them warm nights with dressings, and possibly drains. NHS guidance on sling and pillow hygiene is consistent: keep the skin under the arm clean and dry. That's considerably easier when you can strip a cover off, put it in the machine, and still have a clean one on the pillow tonight.
The same fabric as the one it came with
Soft, breathable quilted cotton-polyester in light grey — the same feel against your skin as the cover supplied with your pillow, not a thinner substitute. The zip closure means you can get it off and back on without wrestling it, which matters when you're doing it one-handed.
Made for your pillow, not a generic fit
The Shoulder Sleeper is side-specific and comes in two sizes, so the cover is too. Choose the side and size that match your pillow and it fits properly — no bunching over the ArmBar™, no gaps at the corners.

Which cover do I need?
Match your pillow: Small fits the 150–178 cm pillow, Large fits the 180 cm+ pillow, and the side must match your pillow's side. If you're not sure which pillow you have, the label is on the base — or send us a photo and we'll check for you.
How do I wash it?
Machine wash at 40°C on a delicate cycle, or hand wash with a mild detergent. Lay it flat to dry rather than tumble-drying, which helps it keep its shape and fit.
Do I need one, or is the pillow supplied with a cover?
Your pillow comes with a cover already fitted. This is a spare — so the pillow isn't out of action on wash day. Most patients recovering from surgery find one spare is enough; people using the pillow long term for chronic pain often keep two.
Will it fit my pillow?
Yes, as long as you choose the matching side and size. The cover is shaped for the Shoulder Sleeper specifically, including the ArmBar™ and strap openings — a generic pillowcase won't work.
Can I buy a cover with my pillow instead?
Yes, and it's cheaper that way. On the pillow's own page there's an 'Add Cover' option that includes a spare with your order. Buy this one if you already have your pillow, or need a replacement later.
